Pitt beat Butler, 68-62, in overtime to advance to the CBI title series. The Panthers will play either Oregon State or Washington State. Those two teams played a late game Wednesday night.

Pitt shot 38 percent and its two seniors -- Ashton Gibbs and Nasir Robinson -- were a combined 1 for 16 from the field. But the Panthers were helped out by Butler shooting 37 percent and going 15 for 26 from the foul line.

Lamar Patterson had 13 points, 10 rebound and 7 assists. Talib Zanna had 15 points off the bench and JJ Moore had 14.

The three-game title series will begin next week.

I'll do my weekly chat Thursday at 1 p.m. We'll talk all things CBI, or NCAA tournament if you like.
